Faith Formation

Studying, learning and living God's Word...

It is very important for us to learn the truths of God’s Word. God uses the precious truths of His Word to keep us strong and growing in our faith in Jesus Christ. God’s Law shows us our sin, and how we are to live as His people. The Gospel gives us the good news of Jesus’ life, death and resurrection for our salvation.

Small Groups

Church is Community. We believe, teach, and confess that the church is not a building. It’s not a place. It’s not an organization. It’s a community. A community of people wholly centered on the work and person of Jesus. A community of people that have been called by the Gospel and gathered by the Holy Spirit to live our Christian lives together and spread the love of Jesus with the world. We want to take this opportunity to invite and encourage you to consider the idea of joining a small group. Small groups are a community of a handful of people or families that meet together regularly to fellowship, prayer, read God’s Word, and most of all to simply walk together and share in life’s joys and sorrows as brothers and sisters in Christ. We will be forming new small groups in January 2026. There will be all kinds of groups filled with people of all different life stages, schedules, and generations. If you are interested in eventually joining in with a small group, please follow the link below and fill out the form so that we can keep you up to date as official sign-ups come out in the coming weeks. Paper copies of this form will also be available at church over the next few weekends. We truly believe God will use this ministry to bless our congregation, deepen relationships, and strengthen your faith. Please reach out with any questions! In Christ, Small Group Coordinator Elyse Johnson and Pastor PJ Brooks

Confirmation Class

Confirmation classes take place for two years in the 7th & 8th grade. Students are asked to take the Early Communion classes prior to starting confirmation. The studies follow Luther's Small Catechism, learning the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion, as well as the Lutheran creeds, prayers and doctrines. At the end of the second year, students are confirmed as members of Christ The King.

Early Communion Classes

We believe that the Sacrament of Holy Communion is Christ's gift to His Church intended for those who believe in His name as Savior. The age at which a person is prepared to begin receiving the Sacrament of Holy Communion is not set in the Scriptures, but is a decision God allows His congregations to make for themselves. At Christ The King Lutheran Church, we have made this decision based on what we believe is best for the young communicant relative to the Scriptural guidelines on receiving Holy Communion. Children in 5th grade and age 10 are welcome to attend Early Communion classes.

Why We Believe Adult Class

“Why We Believe” is a seven-week class focusing on the foundations of our faith in Christ. This class is a presentation of the Christian faith, consistent with reason and grounded in reality. It also serves as our new member class, so you will see it advertised as “Why We Believe” (Membership Class, formerly known as the Good News class). It is not just for people joining CTK. It is designed for everyone! A two-week Discipleship Class follows this class (there is no cost for either class). We ask that you register by calling or emailing the church office.
