Over a year ago, I felt a pull on my heart to help
individuals and families who were struggling. I knew Jesus was speaking to me, calling me to turn that desire into action. He knew my heart. He knew I wanted to do this for Him.
But I didn’t know where to begin. I didn’t have a network, a
plan, or a way to reach the people who needed help. What I had was a desire to serve and faith that God would help me take the next step.
So I approached my church, Christ the King, and asked if I
could start a ministry. They welcomed the idea and said yes—and that was the beginning of Love Thy Neighbor.
My vision is to sponsor individuals and families in need,
offering practical support, love, and compassion. I want people facing difficult times to know that they are not alone, that Jesus loves them, and that there are people willing to walk beside them.
In Matthew 22:37–39, Jesus teaches us to... "love the Lord our
God with all our heart, soul, and mind, and to love our neighbor as ourselves." Those words are the foundation of this ministry. Loving God calls us to care for the people around us.
For me, Love Thy Neighbor is a way to put faith into
action—to listen, show up, pray with someone, and help carry a burden that has become too heavy to carry alone.
I started with a pull on my heart and a willingness to say
yes. My prayer is that through this ministry, people will experience the love of Jesus through our actions—and that more of us will answer His call to love our neighbors.
