Worship Style
Worship is the heart and soul of the members and ministry at Christ The King. In worship, God comes to us through His Word and Sacraments, reminding us of our sin (Law), and forgiving us by His grace because of the sacrificial death on the cross and victorious resurrection of Jesus Christ (Gospel). We believe that worship is commanded by God and that our worship is an offering to God - giving Him our best. Or goal is to honor God and present His Word clearly in each element of the worship service.
We want our members and guests to actively participate in the songs, spoken responses and prayers. We pray that our members be strengthened in their faith and that our guests find their need for a Savior met in Jesus alone.
We use a blended style of worship on Saturdays at 5:00 pm (at Trenton Rd.) and Sundays at 9:00 am (at Pennsylvania Rd.). Our singing is led primarily by piano and occasionally by organ and guitars. We sing such hymns as "Just As I Am," "Amazing Grace," "As the Deer" and "I Love You, Lord." Our 11:00 am Sunday morning worship at the Pennsylvania Campus is also a blended style of worship.
Our 11:00 am Sunday worship is more contemporary and led by a band with keyboard, guitars and drums. We sing uplifting songs such as "Open the Eyes of My Heart, Lord," "My God Reigns," and "God of Wonders."
A church can be a building, place or a denomination. But a Christian church can also be a people that are loved by The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. And those forgiven sinners love God in return.
Christ The King as a people believe that Jesus, true God, and true man, offers eternal life to all who trust Him as their Savior and Lord. We want to share that gift with you and our community.
